Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave - Lir Sea Map

If you are exploring the sea on the north side of the world map in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, you probably noticed it has a small region of temporary paths, much like the Nysiades Desert on the mainline. This is the Lir Sea, and whether you are trying to explore it casually as Theodora, or if you are hunting a certain sea beast with Dietrich, this page is here to help you explore the region efficiently without wasting too many precious turns.

First, let me note that sea paths cannot be traversed by Cai or Leda in Part I. Neither of these groups has ships, so they cannot sail the ocean. This area will become explorable in Part III, however.

Only Theodora and Dietrich can explore this area of the map in Part I. Theodora can do so at any time, while Dietrich is limited to a certain story event during his Part I Path. Either way, the diagram below will outline the paths in the sea that you can take.

The red paths in the sea are temporary, similar to the paths in the desert. This means that, unlike normal paths drawn on the world map, these do not stay drawn on the map once you've traversed them, as they will 'disappear' behind you. They can also only be traversed in one direction, which is why the red paths are drawn with arrows.

On Theodora's Path in Part I, this area of the map can be explored on her ship, although there is never a story-relevant reason to do so. While she cannot access the Sea of Screams title in Part I, as that is limited to Dietrich, she can explore the rest of the sea at whatever time is convenient to do so.

While Dietrich cannot normally traverse sea paths in Part I, a small scripted event during Chapter 8 - Cetus the Sea Tyrant allows him to travel this region for the chapter's main battle encounter. You only have so many turns to do this before potentially getting a Game Over, so this map should help you achieve the objective before risking failure and restarting the chapter.

In order to battle Cetus, you have to use Dietrich's Answerer's Cry a few times. While Cetus will always eventually be found in 'Sea of Screams', you have to try (and fail) to find him at Pasha Currents, Wandering Whirlpool, and Eif Channel first, before he will show up. During this section, you should have just enough time to explore the full Lir Sea (including the Uncharted Isle dungeon further to the east, not shown on the map above), and find Cetus before the deadline. Check out our Dietrich Path Guide for more details.

If the diagram above is somewhat confusing to parse, I've also included an in-game screenshot of the region, which should help you get you bearings. This region of the Lir Sea is the western side, close to Niiza Port. While the Lir Sea does continue out to the East, beyond the images above, there are no temporary paths in the eastern section of the sea.
