A new update has introduced Infinity Ward’s up-to-date Shipment map, an iconic “small map” usually reserved for weeks after launch.
As pointed out by Eurogamer, the map is now available fourish days after launch, showcasing one the most iconic areas in Modern Warfare history, having been part of the franchise since 2007’s OG Modern Warfare and has been used in multiple later entries, including its reboot back in 2019.
Typically, people presume the map is introduced a few weeks later to kick up player numbers. It’s so popular that it tends to be around 24/7 with players not expecting it to disappear in a map rotation.
The new iteration is very much what you’d expect — the classic layout mixed with locales from the game itself, a “urban” landscape, and Soviet-era concrete buildings in the background.
In our review, we said: “Overall, Modern Warfare 4 is a great game. The sound quality and graphics are a step up from its predecessor. It goes to show that moving on from a previous console generation can make all the difference. It boasts a thrilling campaign that is a far cry in all of the best ways from its predecessors. It also makes for a great sendoff.”
