NetEase Games and Marvel Games have detailed Marvel Rivals Season 10: Butcher’s Blasphemy, launching September 11, 2026. The new season adds Gorr the God Butcher as a playable Duelist, followed by the God Quarry Domination map later this month. It will also introduce a major balance update affecting around 70% of the roster. Marvel Rivals is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.
Gorr will be the only new playable hero added during Season 10, though NetEase confirmed that this is not the new standard going forward. Two heroes are planned for Season 11, while Season 10.5 will instead focus on the next phases of Path to Doomsday and two new game modes.
As a Duelist, Gorr fights using All-Black the Necrosword, which can transform into different weapons during combat. Executing enemies lets him create Black Berserkers that can be commanded against opposing players, while his symbiote abilities provide additional mobility. His Ultimate transforms All-Black into the Annihilablade and sends his active Black Berserkers into the attack.
Gorr also drives the Season 10 story, bringing the Faith-Harvesting Engine to the God Quarry as part of a plan to eliminate the gods across the Chronoverse. The God Quarry will become playable as a new Domination map following the September 24 update.
Season 10 is also bringing one of the game’s larger balance passes. NetEase says roughly 70% of the roster will receive adjustments based on Season 9 combat data and match analysis. Several dominant characters, including Magneto, The Thing, Winter Soldier, and Black Widow, are being toned down, while characters such as Captain America, Rogue, Star-Lord, and Psylocke are among those receiving buffs.
Scarlet Witch is getting one of the more substantial overhauls. Her new passive applies Chaos Marks to enemies, with damage against marked targets granting bonus health. She is also receiving a new Chaos Hex ability that deals area damage and applies marks, while her Ultimate will deal continuous area damage during its wind-up.
Strategists will see a broader reduction to Ultimate energy generation after NetEase found that Season 9 changes were allowing their Ultimates to become available too quickly.
Competitive mode is changing as well. Teams will alternate hero bans, and duplicate bans will no longer be allowed. Banned heroes will be unavailable to either team for the rest of the match, with the system applying at Gold III and above.
Outside the balance changes, Season 10 will add new Pajama Party costumes and cosmetics. Jeff’s Dream Eater and Jeff’s Superstar Search will follow later in September, while Galacta’s Gift returns with the September 24 update and offers another Costume Coin.
The second half of the season continues Path to Doomsday with Phase 3: Avengers Infinity War and Phase 4: Avengers Endgame. Together, the two phases will introduce two new game modes as part of Season 10.5, with further details coming closer to release.
The Marvel Rivals IGNITE Series also resumes on September 17 with Stage 2, featuring 12 teams from four global regions competing for spots in the year-end Global Finals.
Marvel Games and NetEase Games also released a Season 10 trailer alongside Dev Vision 21, which provides a broader breakdown of the upcoming character, balance, and competitive changes.
