Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ mode is getting a major expansion in Season 1, introducing a brand-new map and plenty of new missions to complete.

DMZ returned in MW4 with the region of Hajin, where players explore dangerous locations, collect loot, and complete objectives before extracting.

Now, Season 1 is introducing an entirely new area known as X01, which promises to be one of the most dangerous locations in the mode, featuring powerful enemies and hidden secrets.

Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 adds X01 POI to DMZ

X01 is a previously undiscovered weapons facility located near the northern border of North Korea. Players will enter a network of dark tunnels, corridors, and interconnected rooms built around a secret weapons assembly line.

Unlike Hajin’s open environments, X01 is completely enclosed and features multiple floors, forcing squads to navigate tight spaces while facing threats from different directions.

The facility has been seized by enemy forces, with troops and specialists from the 100 Spirits NK Faction among those patrolling its halls. Even more dangerous enemies are also lurking inside, alongside rival squads that will also be exploring the map, adding the usual PvP danger to the already challenging PvE encounters.

It hasn’t been confirmed how the new area’s threat level will compare to existing locations, but it will contain unique loot not available elsewhere.

Alongside the facility, Season 1 will introduce multiple pages of new DMZ Orders, giving players fresh objectives to tackle. Many of these new missions are likely to take you into X01.

With powerful enemies, rival squads, and plenty of unknown dangers waiting underground, X01 looks set to offer a very different DMZ experience when Season 1 arrives on November 6.
