Sky Odyssey Brings Greek Forces to Israel’s Tech Tree

Gaijin Entertainment's next major War Thunder update, Sky Odyssey, is scheduled for mid-September. The update will add Greek aviation and ground forces subtrees to the Israeli tech tree, alongside a new map based on the Falkland Islands, signature vehicles, and cockpit and bomber-model changes.

The Greek aviation and ground vehicle subtrees will be part of Israel's tech tree, a combination Gaijin says will provide players with more tactical options. The aviation lineup ranges from mid-20th-century aircraft to modern jets, while the ground lineup adds imported air-defense systems and a Greek Army tank variant.

What's Included

• Greek aviation subtree: The lineup begins with the SB2C-5 Helldiver dive bomber, delivered to Greece in 1949, and includes the A-7H and A-7E Corsair II attack aircraft. The Rafale EG (AESA) sits at the top of the lineup.
• Greek ground forces subtree: Vehicles include the Soviet-made Osa-AKM and Tor-M1 SAM systems, plus the Leopard 2A6 HEL, a Greek Army variant with reinforced upper glacis armor.
• Signature vehicles: Sky Odyssey adds the Arjun Mk 1, India's first domestically designed and built main battle tank; the AW159 Wildcat HMA2 naval helicopter; and HMS Duke of York.
• New map: Darwin Hill is based on the Falklands area near Darwin, the site of clashes between British and Argentine forces. It features a treeless plain biome, rocky coasts, and predominantly single-story buildings.
• System changes: The update includes improvements to bomber damage models and new MFDs and HMDs for modern aircraft cockpits.

Subtree additions have become an increasingly common way for War Thunder to expand its vehicle lineups. Sky Odyssey's Greek vehicles add aviation, ground, and air-defense options within the Israeli tech tree.
